High Speed Details
Circuits are engineered to perform consistently at our advertised speeds instead of listing "maximum" rates you might rarely (if ever) see.
We cannot, however, guarantee any minimums or percent of "up" time. Speeds listed may not be available in all service
areas. We proactively monitor aggregate bits transmitted to identify potential
virus/spyware problems and excessive usage in order to maintain a healthy network and help users avoid problems.
All high-speed packages include e-mail, Web, news, WebMail access, Junk E-mail/Virus Filtering and Adult Content Blocking. Lite-Surfer, Surfer
and Super-Surfer connections are set-up with a Dynamic IP address.
A Static IP** may be available upon request. Web, mail, and/or game servers may only be set-up behind Pro-Surfer or Business plans and
only by first contacting TCC. You may connect multiple pc's provided you have a router. See below for details on security issues and routers.
** Our system configures a Static IP by reserving an IP from our DHCP pool. No network configuration or hard-coding is necessary on your
PC/router for a Static IP. Leave modem/router/PC in DHCP/Server-Assigned mode.
Installation: Details and Procedures
A high-speed Internet installation consists of a connection to our equipment/network, modem setup and connection to one device. Jack/line installation not included.
Upon receipt of the High-Speed Internet application, we will first determine whether Cable or DSL Internet is available to your premise.
When applying by mail or online, we will contact you within 3-7 business days to setup an installation appointment with you. Under
normal conditions, please allow 7 to 14 days for installation and Internet hookup. Customers must be home while the high-speed Internet is being installed and set-up.
Equipment
High-Speed Modem
A high-speed modem is a separate and necessary part of cable and DSL Internet service. This equipment can be either leased or purchased from TCC.
You may also provide your own high-speed modem but please check with us regarding compatibility of your modem BEFORE you purchase it! Not all Cable and DSL
modems are compatible with TCC. We are not responsible for the operation of a modem we feel is not compatible.
Lease Details: $2.49 per month for regular modem; $4.49 per month for modem with built-in Wireless Router. Equipment is owned, maintained and warranted by TCC.

Contact us for current pricing if you would like to purchase a modem. Modems carry a one-year warranty. TCC will accept returns or exchanges for the first 30
days after the date of sale. After that, any support, repair or replacement should be handled
between the customer and manufacturer.
Modem Connector
You must have either a NIC (Network Interface Card) or a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port available on your computer to plug the high-speed modem into. If you
are not sure or have questions, please call us. TCC does not sell or install either devices. However, we can help
you determine if you have either and where to get one from. The USB connection does not work with Windows 95 or Windows 98, but we strongly recommend a Network
Interface Card (NIC or ethernet card) for all computers regardless of operating system. They are more reliable and less problematic. A NIC is typically about
$20 and can be found where computer hardware is sold.
Static IP Address**
Get a Static IP Address for your high-speed connection for hosting servers, connectivity with certain games, VPN set-up and more. A Static IP is
included with the Pro-Surfer and Business plans. It is available with the Surfer and Super-Surfer for just $10.00 per month, with a $25.00 set-up charge.
Sorry, we cannot use an existing IP for the Static IP. It will be a different IP address. Please note that while a Static IP is available for Surfer and
Super-Surfer plans, putting game, Web or e-mail servers behind either connection is not allowed.
** Our system configures a Static IP by reserving an IP from our DHCP pool. No network configuration or hard-coding is necessary on your PC/router for a
Static IP. Leave in DHCP/Server-Assigned mode.
